Try out and test the all new Yahoo Mail Beta (2010, no download version)
Yahoo! will regularly release new versions of its Yahoo Mail webmail client (email program that you check from inside a web browser - no download required). These upgrades are seamlessly integrated, and you do not need to do anything to benefit form them: no updates to download or install, everything is done automatically. But when your is working on a major upgrade to Yahoo Mail, it will often develop it separately, and allow volunteer users ("beta testers"), to sign up and try out the latest version of their software. In this tutorial, we will show you how to test the all new Yahoo Mail 2010. (This is a free feature testing, nothing to download, and no need to be a Yahoo Mail Plus subscriber either.)
Sign up for the all new Yahoo Mail Beta for 2010
Follow these steps to start testing Yahoo Mail Beta - note that you can at any time revert back to using either Yahoo Mail Classic or the New (current) Yahoo Mail - no risks!
- First, if needed, login to Yahoo Mail; once you are inside your account (if you see a link that reads "All-New Mail" near the top left corner of the page, ignore it: this simply means that you are using Yahoo Mail Classic, and this link only allows you to switch to the latest, current version of Yahoo Mail, but what we want is the beta version).
- Once you have logged in to your email account, click on this link: it will load (in a new window) the splash screen that gives you a quick overview of the new features to expect in the 2010 Yahoo Mail Beta.
- Once you are on that page, just click on the "Try it now" ("Try the latest Yahoo! Mail Beta") link as shown on the screenshot below:

- It will not download anything, but simply open inside that web browser the latest Yahoo Mail beta. To directly, from this tutorial, go to the Yahoo Mail Beta 2010 and skip that explanations page, just click on this link (opens in a new window). That link will automatically open your inbox inside Yahoo Mail Beta - you may need to sign in to your account if you have not set Yahoo Mail to automatically remember your profile and log you in automatically.
This is all you need to do to sign up to test the new Yahoo Mail Beta 2010; if, for any reason, you want to revert to using Yahoo Mail Classic or the current version of your email account, please see how to "Opt out and switch back from Yahoo Mail Beta".
